Dr Joshua Omer is a Senior Lecturer in Geotechnical Engineering and former Director of Learning and Teaching at Kingston University, London. He is a former Royal Society Industry Fellow, and holder of the Institution of Civil Engineers’ Research & Development award and the South Wales Institute of Engineers’ David Douglas Prize. He has published over 60 scholarly articles and is the editor of the Offshore Geotechnics, Foundations and Soil-Structure Interaction Special Issue of the Journal of Marine Science and Engineering. He is also member of the UK Research & Innovation’s Peer Review College. Dr Omer serves in the editorial board of the Geo-engineering Case studies Journal of the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE). He is also a member of the ISSMGE Technical Committees TC107-Lateritic Soils and TC212 and the Deep Foundations Institute’s Drilled Shafts Technical Committee.
