Liverpool City Council

Aneesha Ray is an experienced town planning and regeneration professional with a wide range of experience across place making, development, regeneration and planning fields. Aneesha is currently a Regeneration Manager at Liverpool City Council with a strong focus on delivering regeneration schemes on brownfield sites. These schemes have included delivery of residential, office, public realm and community spaces within both city centre and suburban locations. Aneesha leads the Festival Gardens team, which has remediated a former landfill site to a development platform capable of delivering a large new home community adjacent to the waterfront, with sustainability and placemaking at the heart of this. The sustainable approach to remediation of the Gardens led to a Brownfield Award in 2023 for the 'Best Sustainable Re-Use of Materials'. Aneesha is now leading the procurement of a developer partner for the site. In addition to a passion for regeneration and placemaking, Aneesha is chair of the Liverpool City Council’s Race Equality Network and actively supports diversity in the workplace.
